Noodle shop, Asian restaurant
Best Asian food in town hands down! I enjoy exploring new Thai restaurants across town, always looking for a hidden gem.I found it with this place.Their noodle dishes are so good.My absolute favorite is the Spicy Sesame.AMAZING.And the service is always really good.If youâre downtown, check them out.You wonât regret it.
Tonight was our first and last time visiting Asian Noodle Bar. I ordered a miso soup and the Tom Ka Noodle. The entree was under the specials list instead of the soup section.Iâm very familiar with tom ka (sometimes spelled tom kha gai), and itâs a standard at all Thai restaurants and listed under their soup sections on the menu. The description of the dish read âVermicelli noodle, sliced mushrooms and onions in coconut broth, flavored with chili lemongrass, lime juice and cilantro.â I figured this was an interesting fusion dish using the flavors of tom kha gai (soup) in a noodle dish (like pad Thai).Instead the entree was simply the soup, which I didnât understand because it wasnât listed under the soup section and didnât have soup in the description. The name, in my mind, made me think it was a noodle dish. When I pointed out my confusion, the server was brusque and chastised me for ostensibly not knowing what tom kha is, even though I do.The entree itself was lackluster and unimaginative; it was definitely not âspecialâ.If there was fast food version of tom kha gai, this dish is what I imagine it would taste like. The miso came out at the same time as the entrees; I think the server forgot we had ordered it.It was very watery and oily, and had a cilantro taste; it was unlike any miso Iâve had before, and not in a good way.The service overall was very slow, which was odd since there was only one other patron dining there that wasnât a family member who had camped out.The server clearly didnât want to be there and never once cracked a smile or tried to be polite. Skip Asian Noodle Bar if you have other options.Itâs not worth the time, money, or calories. We wonât go back.
The best Asian food in town! âââââ Honest review from Asian tongue here! It was the best asian food with great taste and the story behind the food itself! Everything were freshly made with high quality ingridient and heavenly taste! One of my favorite restaurant here in ABQ, the couple owner, they're really sweet and very friendly, cozy ambiance, very clean and spacious.Asian Noodle Bar really lives up to its name and creativity in their food.If you havent try it yet, what are you waiting for? đđ¤¤
