I gotta say, I loved this place and my experience here.
But it's a bit of a mixed bag when it comes to the steaks. Before leaving Kansas City, I really wanted to get a Kansas City Strip in Kansas City.
And hearing that this is a place that prides itself on having grass-fed steaks is something that I really wanted to love. Firstly, going through the pub/butcher and up to the fine dining room is so cool.
It definitely feels like you can take a load off and have a drink, and then go and meet your date up top.
I loved the ambiance in the dining room and even more so when I got to drink my cup of coffee outside to take in the cold air. The tartare was fantastic and flavorful, and the garnishes did not take away from that full beefy impact.
The cocktails were also delicious, and I had to have a couple.
But the steak was a bit underwhelming, but not because it wasn't cooked properly...
in fact it was a perfect medium rare.
But the steak itself was very chewy and sinewy.
And while delicious, it was not what I was anticipating for that cut of beef. The service was perfect, and my server that night was excellent.
Even reserved the last grass-fed steak for me, and gave recommendations on all her favorite things which I got.
Sadly, a lot of her favorite treats were 86'd for the evening, but it encouraged me that the food here is THAT good. While the service and preparation were perfect, I can't help but be brought down by that single delicious steak and what could have been.
I'm sure if I came back, and got another steak I would have reviewed this place a full 5 stars.
But, it was just an unlucky night. I'm sure the next time I come here, I'm going to review it higher...
because it deserves it.
But I can't anticipate a higher review, I can only review what I experienced. Pro Tip: Ask to have your coffee and dessert on the balcony, it is so pretty too see the lights and grass while looking out at the city. Dated: Feb 2024.

I've been staying in KC for a month and visited Anton's 3 times.
The service was great, the food delicious and the beer, fantastic! The highlights for me were the Tartare which i had never eaten before but thoroughly enjoyed and the Caesar Salad which was to die for, the dressing in particular was amazing, best I've ever had! Sadly they were missing some items from the menu as they are in the process of refining it. I look forward to my next stay in KC so I can visit Anton's again.

The food, the atmosphere, everything! Was perfect! The food was delicious and in great portions.
I hope to come back here soon.
I need to try the rest of the menu! Our waitress was very nice and helpful when we asked about the food and recommendations for drink choices :))
