During a recent business trip to Salt Lake City, i made a reservation at White Horse, a venue he highly recommended. As we approached the entrance, I was taken aback to find a doorman checking IDs--a clear indication that White Horse was leaning heavier on the bar side than a dining spot. We settled into the cozy & lively ambiance and toasted to a successful work day with expertly crafted cocktails that set the tone for the evening ahead. Our selections included the indulgent egg n' chips, the delectable crab dip, a perfectly cooked salmon, and a succulent duck breast. Although the website and branding may lead one to expect an elevated dining experience rather than a bar and restaurant combination, we found ourselves pleasantly surprised by the quality of both the food and the service. While the initial shock of the doorman's presence may have caught us off guard, it served as a fitting introduction to the unique charm of White Horse--a place where bar seamlessly intertwines with culinary excellence. Though the details of dessert escape my memory, I recall it being nothing short of delicious--a fitting end to a memorable dining experience.Overall, our evening at White Horse was a delightful adventure that left us eager to return and explore more of what this hidden gem has to offer.
One of my favorite places for sides and appetizers. The brunch menu is so good, I feel like you can’t go wrong. The bernaise sauce with the steak is incredible. The lemon ricotta pancakes are so good too.My favorite item are the Brussel sprouts. They have a sushi like taste..I know that sounds gross, but the soy flavor and spicy mayo just makes it sooo delicious and different. Also a fun vibe.
So we've been coming here for years..and it's always been great, up until this weekend. We showed up with our electric scooters (something we've done MANY times in the past).and were immediately shunned by this bouncer who claims to have been there awhile, and never seen us.Same, my friend. same. We historically have left them in the entry way between the two doors, at our own risk and no concern. This was an immediate "i'm gonna have to get my manager" situation. This person was also rude, He immediately told us off and made no intent to help us otherwise. We left. We went to Under Current, they happily stowed our scooters, and we spent over $200 that night. Not sure we'll come back to white horse, which is quite sad as it was certainly one of our favorite bars, and generally the "stop" we ate at, during our bar hop nights.
