Restaurant, Italian restaurant, Bakery
I really wanted this to be the perfect place. Walking in, there were delicious baked goodies everywhere you look! Some of the prettiest cookies and pastries I've ever seen! They had displays of treats behind the counter in addition to prepackaged goodies. They had marinara sauce, pasta, bread, all sorts of things you'd expect at an Italian bakery.Prices were a bit steep in comparison to other bakeries in town though. $16 a pound for cookies. The staff was present and friendly but seemed to lack "enthusiasm." We ordered 2 sandwiches to go. We grabbed a couple of bags of chips and paid for them along with the sandwiches only to later find out the sandwiches came with chips. So instead of offering a refund, they have us more chips. I had the italian beef sub.The bread was nice and soft...and soggy on the bottom from the juice. I would recommend not ordering this one to go but eat there fresh instead.I would also recommend adding some salt and pepper as the meat had absolutely no flavor. The ham and cheese was good, average.Just one sandwich came with a cookie, not sure why they both didn't. There are plenty of other items to choose from, and for the record, I'm willing to give them another try. They are a local business who've been here for a very long time, so there's got to be something that is to die for.I'll let you know if I discover what that is! Maybe it's the gelato? That looked yummy but was not in the mood for cold today. Or maybe it's one of their pasta dishes. There is plenty to choose from, including pizza! Overall I have to give 3 stars this time.I hope next time I will have a reason to give 5 stars!!
Real Italian food done really well.My 8 year old gave it 5 stars! Don’t pass on the desserts.(My kid couldn’t wait for a picture before eating some of the gelato.)
So I had never even heard of this spot until I saw it come across a local food blog.My coworker and I decided we should head over and try it out out.The staff was oh so pleasant and guided us through the menu.I got the daily special, which was a sausage and peppers sandwich.I had coleslaw and a side of marinara. My sandwich was wonderful and the coleslaw had some good tang.My coworker got the meatball sub. Both were delightful, but we ended up switching because she enjoyed the sausage and peppers and I really liked the meatballs. Both were top notch lunch sandwiches. The sweets were a nice treat.I picked up some specialty items for the house as well. It’s far east for a west central person, but it’s a nice place to visit from time to time.
