A delightful location and very aesthetically pleasing with locals and tourists frequenting tables. The pastries, cakes and coffees were lovely and very reasonably priced. We liked the place so much that we went back for a late lunch. The menu was extensive and the food looked fabulous that people were already eating (there was no english version though), and after ordering meats and cheese followed by chicken and a MEDIUM cooked Fillet Steak with baked potatoes (usually cubed), we were looking forward to it. The meats arrived with no cheese which was dissapointing. The chicken was very small but did look and taste nice, we got fries but decided that could have been lost in translation, so didn't say anything. The Fillet was thick, covered in a cheese sauce and looked very nice, but it was absolutely not cooked, blue on the inside.(See picture) We mentioned this to the waitress and she said it was because it was thick. It was sent back and the same piece returned and cooked a little more, I had finished the chicken by this point. It still wasn't great and rare in the centre. I did feel for the waitress as it really wasn't her fault but she couldn't look at us.They knocked €3.50 off the bill which, including 2 beers was then €70. It was a lovely place and the staff were pleasant, we would go again for coffee's but probably nothing else.
We loved Ostia and this little quaint restaurant, if we ever visited Italy again, it would be part of our itinerary.Beautiful beach town with beautiful architecture. We were there on a very windy day so the beaches were pretty much empty, but still beautiful. The UBK restaurant was beautiful as well. The food was amazing. I love all the vegetation the restaurants use in Italy. There were also nearby historical ruins we were unable to visit but would I'd love to visit.
A really nice and cozy restaurant for lunch, close to the beach in Ostia.I absolutely loved the pasta! Mine was ‘tonnar cacio pepe’, as it is a local flavour, and I really liked the ‘al dente’ taste; it was all tasty, even though I found it too salty, but having an Aperol Spritz on the side was a good choice. Further, my friends tried the spaghetti pomodoro and a steak, which they also fancied. However, the second time I visited the restaurant, I ordered pizza margherita, but it wasn’t anything special. The ambience is really calm and welcoming, and the staff quite friendly, even though we were seated a bit in the corner, so it took longer to take our order and then bring it.
