I was about to leave them 2 stars, until I realised that what I was feeling crumbling in my mouth with a sand like texture and anorganic material between my teeth was actually dirt (they most surely didn't washed properly the greeneries from the food) and something else which I can't really say what it is, but I made a picture of what was left of. So, to start with, I'm a fan of African food and every time I get the chance, I'll eat it.Therefore I was actually thrilled when I saw this restaurant (and work such good reviews!!) 1. prices are high (for Romania) and the proportions are small (for the price). 2.Food was cold, even though I called before and they said it will be prepared on the spot. When I picked it up it was actually already prepared, like in a canteen, so nothing was fresh. 3.Worst plantains I ever ate - oily but paradoxically dried - I had to combine them with a sauce to be able to eat them. 4.Jollof rice - huge disappointment.I understand And I know it's hard to cook a specific cuisine when you don't have the ingredients, but that shouldn't be an excuse for delivering something so underwhelming; the only taste was the Knorr seasoning. 5.I also ordered the egusi soup - there is actually no liquid there, and there is nowhere in the menu written it's made with sand or not thoroughly washed ingredients. Both of them have a bitter after taste; the spinach is very salty (and with meat, even though it's not written in the menu); I had more liquid (oil) in my jollof rice than in the egusi soup. 6.The proportions were small; much smaller than maybe if your ordered to eat there (from what I've seen in pictures). First and last attempt here.
Chanced upon this gem.Authentic, great tasty Nigerian food that I had to come twice in two days as I missed the flavour.Friendly staff who made me a special cocktail not in the menu.Try the sauces, it's so good.
Each visit to Tribes by Nils is like returning to a familiar place, where the aroma of delicious food fills the air and the welcoming ambiance instantly puts you at ease. The staff, with their friendly smiles and attentive service, go above and beyond to ensure that every guest feels not just satisfied, but truly appreciated. The menu boasts a delightful array of dishes that evoke memories of home-cooked meals, prepared with love and care.Whether it’s the hearty stews, flavorful Fried Meat, or African Stees, every bite is a nostalgic journey to the comforts of home.
