The place is “home” restaurant. If you are hungry, then is your place… big portions, authentic from Roma, a bit salty but maybe was the bacon. You can clean your dish making the famous “scarpetta’ (clean the dish with bread). The owner has mustache and give the name to the place Baffone.

PLEASE, if you’re a tourist, DO NOT COME HERE! I am an American tourist that’s visiting Rome.
I tried to get food here for takeout but I was refused service.
At first, when I first entered, I said “Ciao” and an older gentleman greeted me the a smile.
After I asked if he spoke any English, his whole demeanor changed COMPLETELY.
He said that I couldn’t not food for takeout, even though there were many other customers (Italian) getting takeout food.
I went to the restaurant next door and when I asked why Trattoria Il Baffone doesn’t do takeout, they were surprised and said that this restaurant is mainly takeout and most people don’t sit down and eat.
It’s clear that the older is very racist and refused me service merely because I am an American.

Great selection of typical roman dishes. Very casual location.
The owner is able to cheer you up even after the worst day at work.
