My friends and I were looking for a nearby lunch option after finding out our first choice wouldn’t work.We found San Miguel via Google Search; it was directly across the road from where we were, and we were very hungry, so we made a beeline for it.San Miguel is located in a strip mall (same one as FK Your Diet), but is not visible from the street — it is beyond the visible storefronts, down an open-air walkway. There are no signs in the parking lot which might make it hard to find your way to the restaurant for some (like us).Being completely under cover probably allows the restaurant and its customers to help stay cool, however. We were fortunate to walk into a completely empty restaurant, so we had our choice of seating and were served instantly. The menu is fairly simple and straightforward, and there is no alcohol available.I usually like a beer with my Mexican food, so no alcohol was a bit of a downer for me.The lack of booze and signage to make the place easier to find are the only downsides for me.The menu has authentic Mexican options, as well as kids’ options.I opted for several different types of tacos (pictured), which are ordered a la carte. The food came out quickly. Each taco was delicious — I highly recommend the chorizo.Even the chicken taco was great — it takes a lot to impress me with chicken in a restaurant. My friends had some other options, all of which looked great and were reviewed favorably by them.Chips and pico are available as an appetizer — I can understand a smaller restaurant wanting to charge for this to help make their bottom line. The pico is made fresh and was very good. Our waiter was polite and attentive.I will be back to this hidden hole-in-the-wall gem to enjoy their excellent food and great service again.
This is definitely a hidden gem.The food was great, the staff was friendly, the prices were reasonable, and you get plenty of food.We spent about $40 on dinner for two and we were both too full for dessert.I do think they should note on the menu that their Sangria is non-alcoholic though. Also, their Pico has a kick lol.It was delicious but if you don't do spicy, watch out.We will absolutely be back.
Beans and rice I received were flavorless.Carnitas tacos were super dry and hard to finish, but their Carne Asada tacos are always amazing!
