Southern Smoke BBQ Pit is a hidden gem in Rockford! The casual atmosphere is perfect for a family outing or a quick lunch. I enjoyed the rib tip and link combo, which was perfectly smoky, though the rib tips could've been a bit meatier. The fries were wonderfully crispy, and they serve up two slices of bread alongside your meal.

Their coleslaw is a must-try - definitely one of the best around! Not to mention, they surprised me with a complimentary slice of cake and a handwritten note, which made my day! 🎉

I’ll definitely be back to support this black-owned, women-owned business! 😊
