This place is a gem! It's been open for 20+ years and rated top ten best Italian food in Jax.I cannot disagree.Rolls are hand made fresh, crusty on the outside, soft and chewy on the inside.Great wine selection.Everything is freshly prepared when you order.Nothing is pre-made, so it's extremely hot and flavorful when it hits your table. All ingredients are so fresh you can taste the difference. We had appetizers, entrees and dessert.I am floored.I took pictures of everything. Prices are reasonable for the high quality and service is very good and knowledgeable. Our server had an Italian accent and could explain the Italian origin of the grapes in the wine we were selecting.Owner was on site and also spent time with us reviewing wines and giving recommendations.Don't hesitate and miss out on Sorrento! It will not disappoint!
Wow.This place was amazing.Staff was friendly and food was AMAZING.John the hose was very friendly. Our server Lina was on top everything, she was very friendly and knew her menu. I will be asking for her again. I had the calamari and stuffed mushrooms for appetizer, those mushrooms though..To die for stuffed with mozzarella and prosciutto.YUM! Had the Saltimbocca which havnt had since Chicago. It was so delicious I had to get a second one to go.Also had the breaded version both with Veal. The home made creamy Italian was awesome. And the bread was super soft inside semi crunchy outside but perfect levels of soft amd crunch. The wine pictured was very delicious. We had 2 bottles and not very expensive. Can't wait to go back! 10/10 reccomend.
Sorrento has been serving up some of the most well-known Italian favorites in the San Jose area for many years. One can always expect and receive the freshest of the fresh food available.Along with the classic favorites, the chef creates new and perfectly executed fare for those of us looking for something different.Tonight's dinner was no exception.A perfect bottle of wine that complimented each dish graced our table.A tartare wrapped in Parma Ham over arugula with perfectly toasted crostini set the mood for the table. Then thinly slices of tomato drizzled in olive oil topped with fresh salmon were light and refreshing offerings. The addition of tomato water was a new and tasty experience for us.The arrival of house-made semolina squid ink pasta sealed the deal. Served with clams and fresh salmon, this particular and unusual dish delighted everyone. Our next surprise, Quack & Mac, rich and creamy tubes of pasta combined with duck confit.A rich combination not to be overlooked.Just when we thought it couldn't be any better, it was, desert arrived—freshly made slices each of Tiramisu and Chocolate Ganache Cake.Treat yourself to dinner on the night.See what the chef is cooking up.FC
