Fantastic dining experience! We got the table to ourselves (they will typically group you with other parties of people). Our server was fantastic and our chef was outstanding. The filet was cooked perfectly to my liking. The lobster was delicious. One of the better teppanyaki restaurants in the Fresno / Clovis area. They do cook their fried rice with bacon as an FYI.You can also order sushi rolls if you're sitting for teppanyaki.
This place is a scam.A lot of fried stuff, pretending they give you a lot of seafood (the tempura was insipid, btw). The soup is some kind of transparent water (some days, if you are lucky enough, they pour some cloudy substance).Sauces are diluted with vinegar, so thin you can barely taste them (except the special one, Sriracha-mayo).They charge you for any extra ingredient in your mediocre small bowl of rice. The presentation for bento boxes can easily fool you.It looks like a lot of good food, right? Only breaded zucchini-sweet potato-onion! Only four skinnier shrimp hidden in a bunch of veggies for a $30-35 entree! You end up paying over $100 for two people, wondering why you did such a stupid thing? It's better if you order only appetizers; they give you 6 shrimp for $13 something.
Sakanaya was a recommendation from a friend who frequented and lived in the area. The food looked mighty yummy when it came out but flavor was underwhelming, I ordered the steak with a side of shrimp for dinner. Both came out cold, with minimal flavor.Had to pour extra teriyaki sauce on top to give it the flavor. The fried rice was different as it was made with bacon.Miso soup was delicious, and didn’t disappoint.Wouldn’t come again as there are other places to visit and try.
