If you’re craving authentic Salvadoran dishes, Pupuseria El Chivazo is a must-visit! 🌮 Their pupusas are simply divine - try the cheese and pork combo for a delicious burst of flavor. The cozy atmosphere makes it feel like home, and the prices are hard to beat.
I also loved the homemade curtido; it adds the perfect touch of tanginess to each bite. Don't forget to order a refreshing horchata to wash it all down! Can't wait to go back... 🍽️
We ordered a sampler and pupusas. The food was amazing! It was our first time trying Salvadoran food and we definitely would come back frequently if we lived closer. You get so much food! I highly recommend! Very friendly service, and clean restaurant.
I wanted some Salvadoran and looked up this spot. The ratings were good, so I decided to give them a try.The space is very roomy with tables arranged at a sensible distance. It appeared nice and clean and the staff was friendly. I ordered some pupusas (revuelta, Pollo & asada). It wasn't extremely busy when I came in, but several people were inside eating, and several more were there for takeout orders. The pupusas were delicious! They were a nice size and had sufficient filling and not overly doughy.I also got a side of plantanos fritos (fried plantains), which were also good. They were cooked just right! At the last minute I ordered an ensalada drink. It was very fruity and sweet but just okay. The pineapples & orange pieces tasted as if they were canned. There were four TVs mounted on the wall, which are likely used when popular games are on.There is a bit of a wait, but it appears that everything is freshly made. One thing I didn't like was that the receipt was not itemized. It only provided the total of the bill along with a printout of tip suggestions, so you can't tell what was ordered or how much you were charged for each item.Overall, this spot deserves its high rating & I would recommend.I've found my new Salvadoran food spot!
First time here.Pupusa had no flavor.I also got some plantain and they weren't very good. The service sucked They make you pay for water that tasted like was from the sink that's not cool.I'll never return.Mainly Spanish speaking and she didn't seem to understand much English
Owner response
Hello Debbie, Sorry your experience at our restaurant wasn’t up to your standards, but I can assure you that we definitely do not charge nor serve our customer sink water. When talking to servers they say that they had a pleasant time experience serving you.And you didn’t bring up any issue with the food, If you had brought your concerns to our staff we would have been more than happy to help you. Thank you for your review - Management
