Come on guys. You’re killing me with the 4 star rating for this place (granted most of them seem to be in regards to the menudo and breakfast, which I did not come here for).I don’t even know where to begin with this review, but I’m going to try to keep it short and to the point.Overall: an utter disgrace and a complete abomination to Mexican food. 1.Check out the color of this guacamole. It’s literally anemic… definitely not 100% avocado! Not even 50%! Horrible. However, the flavor and texture of the actual rolled taco was decent. 2.Worse than the fake guacamole was the nacho cheese on top of carne asada fries. You read correctly.Nacho.Cheese.***We asked for the guacamole and sour cream on the side. But yes, nacho cheese.🤢 The fries were basically mashed potatoes. No crunch.Soggy texture.Fell apart when you picked them up.A few of them were rotten (see photo). 3.We asked for two bean and cheese burritos; hardly any cheese on the burritos. The texture of the beans were decent but they had a weird taste that we couldn’t quite pinpoint. 4.The carne asada burrito is SUPER small, overpriced at $10 for the quality & size, and had the same gross guacamole on it.Meat was chewy like dry paper towel. 5.All salsas lacked flavor and were watered down.We thought for sure the dark red would have SOME TASTE, but nope.Pace Picante or Herdez would’ve been a better alternative. 6.They use white cheese on everything.I prefer yellow but that’s just a personal preference. 7.The shop was pretty dingy.I should’ve known. Extremely bummed we wasted a dinner and money on this taco shop.Really unfortunate that food is being prepared to such poor standards.I just can’t get over the nacho cheese on carne fries and the color of the guac.Like what the actual eff.Born and raised here in the South Bay and this is NOT good Mexican Food. Will not be back and neither should you.Trust me.
Had the menudo rojo...it was excellent. Not spicy but plenty of options to spicy it up to your taste.
I have to agree with the comments about the blend carne asada fries. The meat itself doesn't have flavor, the fries are soggy and the "guacamole" isn't really guacamole.I'm not from this area I was visiting my godsons and I wanted to treat them for dinner.I didn't see many spots in this area.I decided to stop here. The salsas from the salsa bar seemed old (not fresh) I asked for fresh salsa and I received some push back from the lady at the counter.I also questioned why the carne asada fries where put in the microwave. The guy in the back said that was to melt the cheese. The servings are small compared to other placed for the same price. The actual plate looked unfilled and sad.I think I must of had one bite from a plate and that was it for me.The Guacamole was given on the side in a small container of salsa.I asked for them to pour it over the fries. The cashier said if we do that the guacamole will turn brown. My response was no it's okay other placed pour it over it should be fine.Well we got to our destination about ten minutes later and sure enough that guacamole was brown. The texture was very different. It kind of seems like it's sour cream with very little avocadoes. My order was $51.43 a plate of carne asada tacos plain, three carne asada fries with no pico and one small Jaimaica water. The Jamaica was good.
