HOTPOT HEAVEN I freaking love me a good hot pot and this may be my new “go to” spot for it in Portland.
Great fresh ingredients and you pay by the weight of the bowl.
You can choose either soup or stir fry for your hotpot style.
I got a 1 star spice level this time and will get a 2 next time. The bowl you build goes back to the cook who carefully separated the ingredients to allow each to have the proper cooking time. I opted to try most of the things and was THRILLED with the result. UPDATE 4/25 Went back to try more items.
Soup was still spot on and I sprang for a 2 spice level.
It was pushing my spice level a bit, but I loved it.
I ordered the supposedly “high quality” deep fried gyoza and it was frozen rubbish.
They catfish you into ordering a frozen product you can buy at H-Mart with the photo on the menu.
I’ve had better from the sample lady at Costco. I’m going to try the pancake next and am hoping it’s not a frozen product as well…

The food is fine.
The ingredient options are very limited.
The broth of the soup tastes like they are artificially flavored.
The 1 spicy level can be pretty spicy. The service is very confusing - I felt like having a light lunch but the cashier lady was like “this is not enough to make a bowl”, so I had to add some stuff.
The lady weighted again and start taking things out without explaining what’s going on.
Eventually I had to make a bowl more than I can eat.

Fantastic! Healthy, delicious, many fun ingredients to choose from and reasonable price by the ounce.
Clean and bright atmosphere and friendly owner/staff.
Great if you like spice! Will make this a regular lunch spot for sure.
