Vietnamese restaurant, Pho restaurant
Broth was more grease than broth. Then didn’t attempt to strain. The side cilantro was brown. There was zero flavor. The potstickers were decent. The Carmel cheesecake was still frozen.Overall very disappointing.
We haven’t been to Pho Buddy in a few years but used to really like it. Our visit tonight was disappointing, sadly. The food tasted all very one note— salty— and lacked the balanced and nuanced flavors we used to really enjoy here.Furthermore, the prices seem like they have gone up substantially and this made the lacking flavor that much more disappointing. I wonder if the decline in quality is related to the change to a self-serve format. We really like self-serve spots usually— there are some great spots out there. But Pho Buddy was just okay tonight at very best, and we know it can be way better.Hopefully next time we’re in the food will be more enjoyable. We’re happy to pay higher prices for good food, but it was decidedly mediocre tonight. The cashier/server was great, however, and she made the experience better just by being friendly and speedy.
If you want to try good Vietnamese food, this is not a good place for you to do it. Pho was supposed to have really hot broth and they use the plastic bowl to serve dine-in people here, instead of using the normal bowls and have a dishwasher to wash them. A highschool student can know that it is totally not good for your health, so why does a fine restaurant do it? Vietnamese coffee that they serve is American coffee. The fresh spring rolls (goi cuon) were okay, the sause had too much hoisin sauce. The spring rolls (cha gio) were dígusting inside & way too oily.Pho is not good. The broth was tasted like they put too much water on it. This was the first time my husband left almost a whole bowl of Pho while he always finish, eat both Pho and broth at other places. Also see how much trash that they throw from a table after serving? Everything they use to server dine-in ppl is disposable stuffs. I had live in Vietnam for 24 years, I know how Pho is and how to eat Pho.I had eatten Pho from 3 areas of Vietnam. We dont eat Pho/ Ramen/ noodle soup by this small-weak spoon.Go to Saigon Wings or Pho & Grill to have better service and foods! The portion is also way bigger than this place. This place has been taking too much advantage from their guetst. I had been here 2 years ago and wasn’t coming back till Mother’s day, everywhere was too busy so we decided to go somewhere else close on the way and we stopped at this place (I didn’t realise that I had been there till we ordered)
