pictured: my excitement for my first Pancheros experience. Not pictured: my disappointment upon consuming my burrito. Everyone was very friendly, warm, and welcoming.
The issue was not the staff friendliness (indeed, the staff is the only reason this isn’t 1 star!) The food left much to be desired.
After months and months and months of driving past Pancheros and dreaming of the delicious burritos they brag about, I was very let down.
The tortilla was the best part but everything else was a let down.
The rice was undercooked and a bit “hard” (?), the “steak” was grissly pieces of cartilage, and the burrito was assembled in such a way that by the time I was a few bites in, I had already eaten all the good stuff and I was left with the aforementioned sad rice. Of course, I don’t expect fine cuisine from fast casual but I do expect a solid burrito that would make the chain across the street (hint, it rhymes with “UDoba”) nervous. All in all, I am disappointed.
But maybe I caught them on a bad day or was there at a bad time.
In the end, though, thankfully, there’s more to life than burritos!
