Mei Inn, a budget-friendly gem in Minneapolis, captures the essence of traditional Chinese cuisine. Located at 4215 Bloomington Ave, this restaurant has long been a beloved spot for locals craving classic dishes like egg foo young and chicken fried rice. While past reviews sung its praises, recent changes in ownership have left frequent diners disappointed with inconsistent quality and a decline in flavor. Though the prices remain appealing, diners might want to explore alternatives like Bill’s Garden for a more satisfying meal experience.

September 20, 2024I had high hopes for Mei Inn, given its long-standing reputation, but my recent experience was disappointing. 😕 I ordered my usual favorites: chicken fried rice and egg foo yung, only to find the rice gummy and lacking that savory flavor I remember.
The egg rolls tasted bland, reminiscent of frozen ones rather than homemade.
It seems the magic left with the previous owners, and the warmth I'd always felt is gone. For now, I think I’ll take my cravings down the street to Bill's Garden instead... 🍚🥡
