My recent visit to McDonald's was marred by several issues, starting with an unexpectedly long wait time of 20 minutes for my order to be ready.
When it finally arrived, I discovered further disappointments with the portion sizes.
Despite ordering one large and one medium, the sizes were not as described—the large was noticeably underfilled, and the medium was smaller than anticipated.
When I raised this concern with the staff, I received conflicting explanations about what constituted each size.
This inconsistency not only impacted my dining experience but also raised questions about quality control at this particular location.
Waiting 20 minutes for an incorrect order was frustrating, to say the least, and left me dissatisfied with the overall service and value provided.

Disappointed with McDonald's I recently visited a McDonald's location and left feeling incredibly frustrated and disappointed.
As a business consultant specializing in quick-service restaurants, I have always respected McDonald's for its customer-centric approach and efficiency.
However, my latest experience left much to be desired. Upon entering the restaurant, I was immediately directed to use the self-service kiosks to place my order.
This “going digital” strategy might seem forward-thinking on paper, but in practice, it falls short.
The kiosk interface was anything but user-friendly, and after several minutes of fumbling through the options, I still wasn’t able to customize my meal the way I wanted.
The touch screens were unresponsive and frustrating to navigate. What’s more concerning is the apparent lack of oversight and atmosphere management.
During my visit, I noticed a homeless man sleeping in the corner of the dining area.
While I understand that every business has to navigate complex social issues, it was disconcerting to see such a situation in what is supposed to be a welcoming and clean environment for all customers.
This is a place of business, and maintaining a safe and inviting atmosphere should be a priority. McDonald's has built its reputation on quick service and customer satisfaction, but the reliance on these impersonal kiosks and the lack of proper restaurant management are undermining those very principles.
If this is the future of McDonald's, it's clear that significant improvements are needed. As someone who advises businesses on how to excel, I can only urge McDonald's to reconsider their approach.
Digital tools should enhance the customer experience, not detract from it.
Please, do better.

Really poor service at this McDonald's.
You have to use screens to order, which are not easy to use.
"Let's go digital!", say the signs, trying to make it seem like tapping at screens is better than giving your order to a person.
But ordering through the screens and tapping in and out of the various screens and menus took 3 times as long as simply giving the order to a human.
For example, to get your drink with no ice you have to tip into the "Customize" menu, then select "Add-ons", then press the minus button twice where it says "Ice", and then press several confirmation buttons.
Whereas in person, you just say, "No ice".
Digital aids should make the experience better, not slower and difficult.
Then the woman who hands over the food just screams out order numbers and has no understanding of customer service.
I asked for ketchup and she acted like she was doing me a huge favor by giving it to me; really bad attitude.
I would not go there again.
You need to (1) give people the option of using screens if they want to and (2) spend a little more time training your staff in customer service.
You are running a restaurant, not a military mess hall.
