The food is good but I truly pray the owners heart changes.I don’t know how she doesn’t realize her bad reviews are just solely based on her character. You would think someone with common sense would see that and think that they have to do something different but I guess she doesn’t think like that.I love the food but unfortunately her attitude makes me not want to go back.I called to ask for prices and she said she doesn’t give prices over the phone that I have to come in person.I asked her what does a regular sized rice go for and she said “ i cant tell you because a small size or medium size to me can be a whole different size to you” Why not just be direct instead of beating around the bush? Anyways I pray God fills her heart with love and changes her life around.
They should allow food to be mixed for a small up charge rather than having to order a whole entire meal.I wanted to put spaghetti in the yellow rice since they told me I have to wait 20 minutes for the other rice to be done, ordered the spaghetti anyways but for someone who doesn’t have enough money to make two orders a small 1-2dollar charge would’ve been fine
Went to Lola’s for the first time on Sunday 7/16 at ~345pm to get some Spanish takeout.I found meter parking right outside the restaurant. It is a small, compact place, clean and well organized.I Explained to the manager it was my first time there and she was extremely helpful in helping me with my order.I ended up ordering a large jerk chicken over yellow rice, large beef short ribs with onions over yellow rice, an order of yucca, and an order of sweet plantains.Cost for all that was around $44, which struck me as a little pricey, but the quality of the food is undeniable. So far, I have turned my beef short ribs into three separate meals, and the meat was amazingly tender and flavorful.Ditto for the jerk chicken, my wife said it was simply wonderful, spicy and very flavorful but not too spicy.I was very happy with the level of service I got, and the fact that they took the time to explain everything to me and answer all my questions.I am Going back there again today to get more food. They seem to have somewhere in the order of 15 to 20 different dishes available, so the best way to pregame is to look at their online menu before you get there.
