Kona Jack's Restaurant, Fish Market & Sushi Bar

Family dinner we all enjoyed! No waiting and fast service.
The staff was amazing and offered great service! The sushi was excellent along with the clam chowder and fish and chips.
We will make this a regular stop!

I ordered food from this place for the first time yesterday.
I ordered the fish and chips and asked them to substitute the cod with tilapia.
They were not welcoming at all.
When I arrived to pick up my food the lady at the front was looking at me crazy like I didn’t belong there.
I told her that I had a take out order and she told me to go to the sushi bar or the restaurant bar.
She clearly didn’t want to assist me.
I went to the sushi bar to ask them if my order was ready and they told me that I needed to wait for a server.
I stood there for five minutes in the doorway of the sushi bar and the restaurant and not one person acknowledged me.
It was not that busy in there for me to be ignored that way.
After almost ten minutes the guy from the bar came and walked past me like I was not there.
He was checking the orders that were on the counter.
The guy told him that I was waiting and he still ignored me.
I asked him if he had an order for (the name) and he said no as he began to walk away.
There was never any eye contact.
I asked for the last name and it was my order that he had.
He told me to follow him to the other bar but you would have thought he was talking to someone else as he still had not made eye contact with me.
When we got to the bar he told me to wait because he had to get something else.
I was waiting to pay and he stood there.
I asked him what he wanted me to do because I was not understanding what was going on and why customer service didn’t exist.
I handed him my card, he took it, put it back on the counter and walked away.
He said absolutely nothing to me and left my food on the side table.
I was in such disbelief.
When I got home I opened the food and it was disgusting.
The fries were so hard and dry that I thought they were made the day before or taken out of the trash.
They definitely were not fresh.
The fish was cod and it was also dry as if it was old and made the day before.
I had to wonder if it was a racist thing because I was black and looking at the environment I don’t think black people eat there.
I gave them the benefit of the doubt and just charged it to horrible customer service.
However I would never step foot in that establishment again.
They should be ashamed of themselves.
That was not cool.
My clients were not that happy with their food either but they ate it because they were hungry.
I threw mine away.
I wouldn’t have given it to my dog.
For a $75 order, the result should have been different.

I usually love coming here.
Today I came and tried 2 rolls, the Duran Roll which was really cilantro-y… and the Blue roll.
Their spicy mayo tasted like ketchup.
Even the guys rolling the sushi said it didn’t taste right.
I told the server that is tasted off and she offered to remake it.
Which was nice but I don’t want more of a bad thing.
$16 per roll and it was not very good :-(.
Every other time I have been here it has been excellent and this time it was awful.
If you want ketchup covered sushi- give them a try!
