We drive from Olympia are to eat breakfast here! We have a favorite waitress who is always smiling.
The last time I got The California omelette and paid $2 extra (like everywhere, they had to charge more) for a pancake.
I NEVER order pancakes but since I tried One of theirs, it is the only place I get one! The Swiss omelette is good too.
Husband had the chicken fried steak.

We always have to visit this gem when we are in town! Amazing diner by day, my kind of dive bar at night; dark, affordable, and strong drinks.
Knapp's is a must visit in Tacoma

If I could rate this diner zero stars I would.
This was my first experience with this eatery and was beyond disappointed by the service and the quality of the food.
It took an hour and a half for the food to arrive and when it did it was cold.
For context, there were 7 people in our party and we were there during a moderate traffic hour with other large parties who arrived after we had our orders taken and were served and left before we had our food arrive.
At no time were we checked up on during our wait.
However, we were glared at by staff, and could see them whispering and watching us at various times.
A member in our party brought the temperature of the food to our waitress’s attention, and although she offered to warm up the food she was dismissive and immediately delivered the checks unprompted.
When the “warmed food” was brought back out the waitress mentioned it was heated up in the microwave and although the plate was steaming the food in question still appeared undercooked.
Only after the waitress noticed that our friend was visibly upset did she offer to take the food off the bill.
Another member in our party had been served practically raw potatoes, and another was charged double for extra bacon they didn’t even order.
As a disclaimer, all members in this party are retail or customer service workers.
While it goes without saying that in the industry there are days where things aren’t as smooth as they should be, and not everyone is in a good mood all the time the lack of courtesy and the lack of empathy was frankly disheartening by a place that was literally voted as the #1 breakfast joint in Tacoma.
None of us will be returning.
