Was craving something homemade so I thought I'd give them a try.Food on their buffet looked a little old but I ordered chicken with pasta and rice and beans.Price was 23.50 with a bottled drink which I thought was crazy expensive but didn't say anything.Food was ok tasting but rice and beans were dried out and beans were hard ...I went to ask for possible changing of item and they told me rudely that that dish is supposed fo be like that.First and last time eating from there.
My burrito was awesome 👍🏻! Great flavor, fresh/hot and it was HUGE (next time I will get less beans per personal preference). Service was good.I was really pleased.
So I’m a huge fan of the food at Jacky’s Burrito Express on W.12th street, the service not as much, but we do frequent there because the food is so darn good (they got 4 stars, 5 stars for food, 3 stars for service… read my other review for more details). The service here I think actually makes more sense than it does at Burrito Express. It’s basically the same model, but it makes more sense in a food court setting. Food came out in 12 minutes which is better than what we usually get at their other place. Food ingredients were high quality and fresh and dishes were piping hot! Jacky’s Burrito Express is always busy… I was surprised to see that this location wasn’t! Well, a couple shortcoming to point out. The lady up front working, she could definitely be friendlier. 2nd and probably more importantly, the food doesn’t quite hit the mark in comparison to their other location. Tacos were on the bland side, could have used a touch of salt more or something. My chicken chipotle burrito (which is what I always get at Burrito Express) was still really good but not quite as good as it normally is and the chicken and rice were not mixed as well which caused me to take full bites of just rice when eating my burrito. Plates (although served in styrofoam) are beautiful as you can see from the pictures. I think the two restaurants need to get together and exchange notes. Burrito Express can learn how to get out food faster and the food court location can put some fine touches on the final flavors. If they can get those flavors right, this place would have the best food in the mall hands down!
