Barbecue restaurant
All the food was cooked very well except the french fries were not crispy, pulled pork was dry, and pork ribs which were slightly dry. They lightly seasoned their food. We had the Q platter for $37.It is like sampler plate with everything but 1 meat item(I forgot which). The meal can feed 2-3 people easily. I liked the pork ribs because it had the most flavor and it would fall off the bone even though it was a little dry. The French fries were more like steak fries. They needed to be cooked at a higher temp because there weren't crispy and some were under cooked. The bread was lightly buttered. The Mac and Cheese has the same flavor as boxed Kraft Mac and Cheese. The only thing I was disappointed with. Note: they give 4 different types of sauces(spicy BBQ, sweet BBQ, mustard, and x BBQ.I am not a sauce person so that may improve how the food tasted.
Texan love BBQ so when you are in a new city or state you always have to pass judgment. I enjoyed the brisket platter from here and I appreciated how tender the meat was.I was happy they had different types of bbq sauces to try out.I went during lunch and I was able to get seat right away. The service and waitress were really great. It was the first time I tired baked beans that had black beans in it.
I wanted to try this restaurant because it's described as Texas-style.I love brisket and they have it on the menu.I guess I'm still not used to Tucson-area food prices because the portion sizes did not match in my opinion. However, the service and atmosphere was great with such friendly staff, and it smells so darn good in here.We went on a Saturday night around 6pm and only had to wait about 5 minutes to be seated.I like that they have a board letting you know if they are out of anything. The two slices of brisket in the brisket platter were fork tender and juicy with a nice smoke ring, but not much smoke flavor. The potato salad was good and the coleslaw was cold and fresh but lacked flavor.Hubby got the Ol' School Platter and was pleased with how everything tasted, and even had enough left to take with us.
