Herby-K's

Herby K seafood restaurant is renowned for its fresh and flavorful dishes.
We were passing through on a long trip, and a friend recommended we stop in for a quick bite to eat.
Our table was visited by two male employees.
They did not communicate well and did not explain the menu.
They had no understanding of the menu items and seemed disinterested in helping us make a decision.
I ordered the gumbo, and it was a little disappointing.
The seafood was slightly overcooked, and the broth lacked the depth of flavor I was expecting.
The fish was fried too hard, making it difficult to enjoy the dish.
Overall, I was not impressed with my meal at Herby Ks seafood restaurant.
I hope that they can improve the quality of their dishes in the future to match their reputation for fresh seafood.

Their white chocolate bread pudding blew my mind and expectations! Who knew that bread pudding could be light and airy!? The white chocolate was something I typically pass on but it made total sense on this bread pudding.
The catfish is Herby K's best kept secret.
It is the best in town.
People come for the Shrimp Buster, but these hidden gems are a must try!

I always love finding "hole in wall" restaurants! This restaurant was very deceiving from the outside.
It's in an area that looks pretty abandoned.
We're so glad we trusted the reviews because it surpassed our expectations.
We're passing through town and wanted something local.
Two young guys working the counter greeted us as soon as we got there, and they had the biggest smiles.
This restaurant has been around since the 1930s and is still family ran.
I forgot what they called it but it was fish with lump crab meat and garlic seasoned butter.
It was amazing.
I left beyond full and still had leftovers.
I hadn't even touched my rice.
My husband had a bowl of the chicken gumbo that was amazing as well.
We were both stuffed but ordered the white chocolate bread pudding to go.
We didn't eat it for another 2 hours, but it was decadent when we finally ate it! The experience was amazing.
Every (4) booth was occupied and the barstools were almost full before we left.
The price was well worth the quality and quantity.
Definitely recommend trying them out if you're visiting or driving through on I-20!
