Hamilton’s is a staple in the neighborhood and it’s usually packed with barely any tables available; I had dinner here years ago and the food was great. Today I went for dinner with my husband and I ordered the pretzel with mustard ($7) since I ate earlier and wasn’t too hungry. My husband got the Rueben sandwich with roasted potato wedges ($21).My pretzel was fine. His sandwich was also ok-it had a good amount of meat on it but the bread got soggy. We also got “warm homemade buttermilk biscuit” with honey almond butter ($5) and the biscuit was cold, dry and a little on the burnt side. The almond honey butter was delicious. Our server was very nice and our food and drinks were delivered in a timely manner. For drinks we got (jalepeno guava soju margarita)- this was very good and (bees knees martini)-this was ok.We had high expectations for the food because we had dinner there before but this time around it was not the best. There is plenty of seating on the inside and outside.I might come back for brunch to give it another try but we weren’t too impressed with the food today.
I agree with other commenters that I love the concept and location of Hamilton’s, but for dinner consistently find them lacking.Today I ordered take out, the salmon and the burger and was reminded that this is off my salmon list because it’s not cooked flavorfully. The portion size is also very disappointing for the price, and disappointing as a dinner portion.
Came to eat at Hamilton and me and my partner ordered the Grass fed steak with eggs, potatoes, and salad for $31 and the grilled chicken sandwich with bacon, arugula and herb Aioli for $16.In my opinion the steak platter was overpriced due to the amount of steak that was very little and a huge load of salad was taking up half the plate.Thought it would be the opposite… the chicken sandwich was alright for the price and taste.Ordered a iced latte too as well as a pina colada. The pina colada was great but the latte tasted watery almost like an americano with milk… overall the staff was nice and service was alright.
