Chicken restaurant, Restaurant
Gus's "world famous" fried chicken? More like overhyped and bland. The customer service was awful (just like other folks mention in the other reviews below). The complaints about the slow service were definitely spot on.There were two other tables occupied when we walked in and still got incredibly slow service. We waited ages for the host to bring us menus, then forever for them to return to take our order. Our food arrived after a 30+ minute wait.I don't understand how it took 30+ minutes to make a chicken sandwich and the plate. After all, the only thing that was fried was the chicken. The white slice of bread that came with the chicken plates wasn't even toasted.I thought we'd give this place a shot but it was a total let down. Not only was the chicken lacking flavor, but the portions were also disappointingly small. The server could have kept us informed about the wait time for our food, but she didn't.Not once did she check in on us.We paid a total of $26.14 for a chicken sandwich with fries, and a 2 piece dark meat plate with beans and coleslaw.Parking was also a hassle, we got lucky and didn't have to pay because we arrived after 5pm.Save yourself the trouble and disappointment; this place is definitely not worth it.
If I could give a zero I would. Not worth the money and definitely not worth waiting for 35 minutes.A chicken sandwich with fries should not take that long.I would have been okay if the waitress simply gave me a heads up about the wait time and didn't walk around the restaurant ignoring me.It shouldn't take 10 minutes to get a menu either. Also disappointed with the size of the chicken sandwich. It's a basic white bun with a chicken tender, pickles, and mayo.Fries didn't have a seasoning and were not soggy but not crunchy, just soft.Nothing special. The waitress was very dry and seemed to either not like us or not like her job.She was more concerned with going back and talking to her coworkers. The bathroom also wreaked of marijuana. Also good luck finding parking. Not coming back.
Food here was dee-lish.Chicken was crispy on the outside; succulent and juicy on the inside.Sides were on point! In particular - Fried okra. Two pieces of chicken and two sides is around $15.Value for money.RECOMMEND.
