Nothing was fresh here.Chanterelles were probably from a glas or from a can.The potatoes tasted like nothing and also the Schnitzel was tasteless. Then they charged us extra because we wanted to switch the type of meat from pork to chicken. They did not tell us while ordering that we would need to pay extra for that.Prices are way to high for the quality of food!
Adequate food and surly service. It was as if the waiter was doing us a favor allowing us to eat there. Our hosts reserved a table near the fireplace. That area was "reserved" and we were placed elsewhere. OK, but not great. (We were able to observe the "Kaminzimmer", but NO ONE was seated there throughout our time there. Then, the ordered fish was overcooked, as was the liver. The real issue was the waiter's attitude. One hears of a "Servicewueste" in Germany, but one seldom experiences it. Eat here and you will do so.
This place offers nice food but the price of the food went up by about 40% during the last years.Prices are frequently rising. Most recent increase (August) resulted in an almost 10% rise of food prices.I'm waiting for the management to increase prices for drinks. At that point our "Stammtisch" quits, since there are similar restaurants with better prices around. The staff is very friendly but I wonder if they profit from the rise in food prices.I bet they don't, since they change frequently as well! Update: They did it! They increased the prices for beer.A Köstritzer Dark Beer is 4.6€!!! That is by far the most expensive price for restaurants in this district and probably one of the top 10% in Berlin. It's always nice to see, that these days it only takes a capitalist to destroy a cosy restaurant like that.
