Mexican restaurant
I saw Chris Shepherd review this restaurant on his new show, Eat Like a Local, and I knew this was the place for me! I grabbed my Mom, and off we went on a late Saturday afternoon.Mom ordered the whole fried fish with a fresh cantaloupe juice.I ordered a michelada, the barbacoa, for 1 with handmade tortillas.Flautas arrived while we enjoyed the live music.Delicious and crispy with the best accompanying chili sauce. Our food arrived promptly, and I have never seen Mom more pleased. Her fish was crispy on the outside but tender and juicy inside. The barbacoa comes with cactus salad, which is delicious.I was able to eat about 4 tacos before giving up, but I will be back because that lamb was everything I dreamed it would be.As we dined, Mom noticed another table enjoying the cabrito. She wanted to order to go.Lol, I suggested we just come back with more family. And we will! See you soon, El Hidalghense!
Went on a weeknight and not many customers.Ordered tripitas and it came on a bed of raw onions and bell peppers, no sides and no tortillas.I asked for tortillas and had to pay $8 for them.No chips and salsa, only beer and wine.Server was polite; however, I speak Spanish but my husband doesn't.My entree was $22.Won't be returning.
The menu it's self is impressive, they have plates I'd expect to see in an expensive restaurant IN MEXICO 🇲🇽 they can cook in this restaurant!!! You will not be disappointed with whatever you order, I got quesabirria, fajita ranchera and chicken flautas, the flautas have meat in em, like for real! If you like live music, they got it, the waitresses are attentive and nice, food definitely off the chart great!
