I’ve been to many affordable sushi spots around Brooklyn and this one is by far the best.Their tuna is always delicious and fresh.I’m not fan of their special rolls I come here often with family and friends. Sometimes we do all you can eat and other times we don’t.It’s fun to do all you can eat because portions are smaller so you get the chance to try a little bit of everything for a low price. The atmosphere is pretty casual.Staff is attentive. It does get crowded during the evening and staff seem rude during busy times which is understandable
When my boyfriend and I arrived we were greeted by an employee and told where to sit, we were asked if we wanted to order the all you can eat or the regular menu and of course we went with the all you can eat.She explained how it worked, how we order and that there would be a fee for wasting food.We didn’t want to order more than we could eat so we checked off just a few things to get started. When the food arrived the portions were TINY I’m talking one small bowl of fried rice to share, and they only brought one of the shrimp and salmon tempura for us to share. As if the small portions weren’t enough, we were also missing some items that we had checked off, we figured since we could order more rounds it wasn’t a problem so we were brought the paper once more and ordered a few more things. Now for the third round time my boyfriend had to ask for the paper and was offered the check instead he said that he would like to order again and this was the last time we ordered. After this we were basically kicked out they offered us dessert which was included and brought the check.I attached pictures of everything we ate.
Update to below review: The manager just called me back. And she was very apologetic, because I also mentioned that the waitress was rude to them, and that I instructed them not to leave a tip.I didn’t mention below, because that was already dealt with by not tipping. But she addressed the issue about the six pieces of sushi the girls were charged for.She told me that for a large group where it would amount to one piece per person — They wouldn’t normally charge for something like that and she was very apologetic for not being on the premises indicating Otherwise it wouldn’t have happened. She also offered either a refund or a gift card for the birthday girl.So that was kind of her.I know an owner or manager can’t always control their staff, but it results in reviews like the negative ones here.I added one more star, as a result. I’m pretty sure they don’t do this to all customers.I have to say that EVERY other buffet and sushi all you can eat restaurant in this neighborhood (11235) never ever enforces this. They do have signs for it but in my 25 years here, NONE of them have EVER enforced it, especially if it’s a small amount of food.We had young teenage girls go in there for a birthday party today, and they were all mixed races. At the end, the girls were, of course, without parents, they had Six pieces of sushi left between six girls, so basically ONE single roll — which would’ve equated to each girl having one piece left of said roll left. You know these people charged them one dollar for each of those pieces that was left.So imagine you have a roll and just one piece of it is left - because it was six people.I think that’s absolutely atrocious.I definitely would not recommend anyone going there especially if you want your kids to have a nice time without parents.Because for something so ridiculous to be enforced against a group of kids who were full and didn’t know is absurd when they already paid Over $220, so to be so petty and charge them extra. So if you want to try something new, or you might not the freshness of the avocado or anything in the roll, don’t go there because they will charge you for something you can’t or don’t want to eat even if you didn’t over order even if you have one piece left on your plate. While the kids had a nice time, I was shocked when they told me this, and I would never send them here. All these kids live in this neighborhood and go to Bay Academy. And I will ensure none of us ever have a birthday event here again.
