I ordered two things: curry chicken mini meal with white rice and cabbage, and regular jerk chicken, rice & peas and cabbage. The curry chicken was cut up into tiny pieces, and ridiculously salty. Some of the white rice was still crunchy, like it needed to be cooked longer. Their jerk chicken was a laughable attempt. No jerk flavor. No real flavor in general.Everyone tells me that Dutch pot on Pines Boulevard cooks their jerk chicken outside on a grill, but I could not taste any or smoke on it whatsoever. The color on it looks like it was done in the oven.(Which generally isn’t a problem for me, as long as its well seasoned). The rice and peas tasted like rice and peas. It was pretty busy there, but the line moved at an adequate pace.I didn’t have a problem with the service…They asked what I wanted, I answered, they served the food. Prices were fine… just about in line with every other Jamaican restaurant out there. Also, it would be nice if they offered healthier choices/options.They use those extra jumbo, GMO chickens 👎🏾

I first tried this restaurant in 2016 and I fell in love with it.The staff are pleasant, the food has some great Jamaican Flavors and I enjoy the theme of the inside displaying the culture such as the Zinc Fence, Natural Attractions, Murals on the wall and of course the real Jamaica Dutch Pot which is used for cooking. This was my first stop after coming from the FLL airport.I had a SMALL ackee and Salt/cod fish with fry dumplings, boiled green banana. This place serves plenty of food, so beware. It's a good thing.
I recently visited Dutch Pot in Pembroke Pines, and it was an authentic culinary experience that truly delivered on the flavors of Jamaica. As someone who enjoys Caribbean cuisine, I was excited to see what Dutch Pot had to offer, and I left thoroughly impressed. **Ambiance:** The ambiance at Dutch Pot is casual and inviting, with a focus on simplicity. It’s more of a quick-service spot than a sit-down restaurant, but the atmosphere is still warm and welcoming. The decor features vibrant colors and Jamaican-themed artwork, which adds to the overall feel of the place. It’s the kind of spot where you can pop in for a quick meal or grab some takeout and still get a taste of authentic, home-cooked Jamaican food. **Food:** The food at Dutch Pot is, without a doubt, the main attraction.I tried the oxtail, which was tender, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. The rich, savory gravy was absolutely delicious, and the portion size was generous.I also sampled the jerk chicken, and it had that perfect balance of smoky, spicy, and juicy flavors that jerk is known for.The sides, including rice and peas, fried plantains, and steamed cabbage, were all well-prepared and complemented the main dishes nicely.Everything tasted fresh, and the flavors were spot on, transporting me straight to the Caribbean with each bite. **Service:** The service at Dutch Pot was friendly and efficient. The staff was knowledgeable about the menu and happy to make recommendations.Despite being busy, they kept things moving smoothly, ensuring that customers were served promptly. It’s a no-frills, straightforward kind of service, which fits perfectly with the casual vibe of the place. **Cleanliness:** The restaurant was clean and well-maintained, which is always a good sign, especially for a quick-service spot. The counter area where you order was tidy, and the dining area was clean, with tables being promptly cleared and wiped down between customers. The open kitchen allowed me to see the food being prepared, and it was evident that cleanliness and organization were a priority. **Overall Experience:** Overall, Dutch Pot in Pembroke Pines is a must-visit for anyone craving authentic Jamaican food. The flavors are bold and true to tradition, the portions are generous, and the prices are reasonable.Whether you’re a fan of Caribbean cuisine or just looking to try something new, Dutch Pot delivers a satisfying and flavorful experience.I’ll definitely be back to explore more of their menu, and I highly recommend it to anyone in the area.
