Pleasantly surprised when we walked in the door.
Small but cozy and elegant.
Good Southern Soul Food.
Liked that the string beans were not too salty, and the rest of our food was delicious.
They were out of cabbage, collard greens, and mashed sweet potatoes, so we will have to return to try those and other menu items.
Definitely recommend

For some reason, I was prepared to be underwhelmed by my to go order.
I was exactly wrong.
The negatives: the potato wedges were just ok and I've definitely had better mambo sauce.
But the green beans were straight from my Thanksgiving table and the fish was fried to perfection! I was concerned from the look of it, but it was crunchy and well seasoned and worked perfectly with the lemon and hot sauce.
I initially thought the portion of fish was small, but it was actually pretty filling.
I look forward to trying other things on the menu. And for those looking to dine in, just know this isn't Applebees with 100 tables and booths, it's a small restaurant with only a couple tables in a tight space.
Reminds me of a mom and pop shop in DC or Richmond.
I would recommend take out.
The hostess was nice and attentive, even tho it was pretty busy.

Food was a great and to be cooked to order it came out fast.
My wings were delicious and my friend said his fried fish was excellent too! To me it tasted like my grandmother cooked it at home not like it was mass produced in a commercial kitchen.
The staff was supper friendly and we even got to meet the cook.
The only thing I thi k could make this place better is a bigger eating area, a better location where more people driving by could see it and stop, and maybe some lunch time prices.
I will definitely be back!!
