Don Gallopinto is a cozy gem in Burien that absolutely nailed my expectations! 🌟 I swung by for breakfast and indulged in their classic Nicaraguan gallo pinto; the flavors took me straight to Central America.
The fast service was a delight, perfect for my busy morning. The casual atmosphere made it great for solo dining, plus they’re family-friendly! I really appreciated the wheelchair-accessible features, ensuring everyone can enjoy this eatery. 🍽️ Can't wait to return for lunch or dinner... maybe I'll try their small plates next time!
As a Nicaraguan I wanted to try this restaurant because of the review….But I think the people rating this place with 5 stars for the food, probably never cooked in Nicaragua or have bad taste..I ordered today the soup and it was way overpriced! $25! I expected it to be so good, but it wasn’t.It was fine, but it didn’t have corn, cilantro, quequisque (taro) or chilotes (I know it’s hard to get) but it’s just a Mexican chicken soup with yuca and potatoes! The service was fine… but I wouldn’t recommend the soup… I still want to try their carne asada, we’ll see… I think if the soup was $16 or even $18… but $25?? No thanks.
I'm originally from Nicaragua and I was very excited when i search Nicaraguan food in my area, I went just to give a try of our national food. But this person is make our dish look very bad.I don't really care pay for a good meal, but to be honest all was a disaster I ask for frito Carne asada and a order of enchiladas. And even the sweet plantains and plantain chips were horrible cook and the order worth $23 for a hard and cold meal, the meat was hard and bad seasoning wasn't even grilled as it should be.The enchiladas were swimming on oil and their weren't look like the real enchiladas, all was so nasty.Just this person should quick embarrassing Nicaraguan people and our dishes.I don't recommend at all this place.
I was really excited to hear that there was finally a Nicaraguan food in the area. However our experience was pretty bad.We ordered Indio Viejo and it was clearly not fresh. It tasted like it was a week old and it was served cold. The Nacatamal we ordered didn’t even tasted like Nacatamal. The few bony pieces of pork were very bland and the rice was undercooked. The gallo pinto tasted old and the cabbage salad had cilantro and bell pepper in it? It tasted weird. The worst were the buñuelos. We were served a doughy smelly mess that it was hard as a rock.To make matters worse they served it with maple syrup instead of the sweet sauce that is supposed to come with.Definitely not worth $150.00 Terrible food.Definitely not the delicious Nicaraguan food I was hoping for.Maybe the Mexican food was better, but I would definitely not recommend this place for Nicaraguan food. The food was awful sorry.
