I was visiting a friend in Rome and he recommended this place.
The bread and anti-pasta were fantastic, then, all you can eat freshly-made pasta, all you can drink wine and a charming unmistakable Italian atmosphere.
This hidden gem is outside of the usual tourist places and is exactly what I was looking for.
I highly recommend the "Cacio e Pepe" and "Carbonara"...
but honestly, everything here is outrageously delicious.
HIGHLY recommend!

The atmosphere was very chaotic and noisy - it was obviously the theme of the restaurant.
The staff however was very helpful.
Best to go with your mates for a fun night.
We had the carbonara and amatriciana pasta to start with - very generous portions and the best carbonara I have had in Rome, however the amatriciana was pretty average.
Then we had a bit of everything including trippa, spuntature, meatballs, chicken and some sides - average as well.

As many Roman friends suggested to eat at Bottarilo, we tried it out with high expectations.
Unfortunately, the service is really slow and not in sync, so much that in 2 hours that we have been there only the appetiser and two first courses came, after asking for them to the waiters for 3 times.
Since there was no point in waiting more we cancelled second courses and had to pay anyways for the menu for leaving the restaurant hungry (because paying by meal is a theft, they wanted 100+ euros).
