Casa Maiz offers a cozy spot for a taste of Cuba right in Hialeah. I visited recently and indulged in the shredded pork platter with black beans and fried plantains. The plantains were a highlight - perfectly sweet and crispy! The pork, while tender, could have used a bit more seasoning. I appreciated the generous portions; one meal can easily feed two.

However, the atmosphere inside felt a bit rushed. Opting for the outdoor grill area next time sounds like a better plan... 🌞
