For 17 1/2 years that I worked at Houston Monument I would go by a restaurant Barbecue Inn that was established in 1946 but, even though I thought about stopping in to eat I never did and come to think of I have no idea why.
Now another 15 years at my Current job Jeds Hardware and I forgot all about it until the other day I saw a post on tik tok about the same restaurant which I couldn't believe it was still around.
Just before getting off work I was talking to a fellow co-worker who out of the blue mentioned the same restaurant so, I figured that it was meant to be.
Here I am enjoying the French Fried Shrimp with Cole slaw & mashed potatoes.
They have homemade pies which of course I had to have a slice of Lemon Mirage Pie 🍋! Everything was excellent, Delicious and the Service from Liz was Awesome.
I will definitely be back but, it won't take 32 1/2 years next time!😋🍤🍤🍲😋🍋🥧🍋🤟

This is an old-school Texas diner that exceeds expectations.
The fried chicken has a top-notch crunch and flavor.
It's made fresh from scratch.
The service makes you feel like you're a lifetime patron.
The decor creates a nostalgic atmosphere.
The third-generation owner chatted us up like we were old friends.
We'll be back!

I have been eating here for over 50 years and it’s as good or better than it’s ever been.
Food is delicious.
I normally come for the fried chicken, which nationally know for but today it was seafood.
Fried shrimp and a stuffed crab.
Service was great and Houston is lucky to have the wonderful family run restaurant for over 77 years
