Angola Service Area

Rest stop, Toll road rest stop, Truck stop

Once a vibrant hub for travelers, Angola Service Area is currently a stopover on I-90 marred by closures and limited amenities. While the rest stop is temporarily shut down, intrepid diners might find solace a short drive off the highway at nearby chains like McDonald's and Tim Hortons. The service plaza features accessible parking and clean restrooms, though current reviews express frustration over cleanliness and the lack of facilities. If you’re in need of a break, bring your patience while navigating this transitional space.

Absolutely disgusting.
The whole place is shut down.
For a toll road to operate like this is shameful.
This is what paying tolls is supposed to avoid.
The garbages are overrun, and their solution for the bathroom is a porta potty.
Without even a sink.
As a visitor from Canada, I will avoid this area in the future.
Absolutely disgusting how dirty a rest stop could be.

Its been closed forever and is still closed.
Causes a huge inconvenience when travelling because there are no restrooms for miles and miles when I travel in the direction of this rest stop.
There are no other ways to use the restroom other than to get off the thruway and find a store just off the highway which doesn't work well if you are travelling after hours when stores aren't open.
They could at least put up some kind of temporary rest room here if its going to be closed for years.
Pro Tip: There is a McDonald's, Tim Hortons and Burger King 2 minutes off the highway if you take the Silver Creek Irving exit which is very close to this rest stop but if you need a restroom after hours this won't work for you.
The only problem is you will have to pay a toll to get back on the highway after using the restroom there so you are being charged to use the bathroom when on the road.

I used to love this rest area because of the great restaurants and the piano.
But now with a little dog it’s not fun. It’s a bit of a walk to the bathrooms and restaurants.
There’s an information center between the bathrooms.
I did not see any gender neutral or family bathrooms but I was in a hurry to get back to my little dog on the other side of the walkway. The bathrooms are clean.
They have both hot air hand dryers and paper towels.
They have automatic flush and many hooks for hanging bags and jackets in the stall.
The toilet paper was good and well stocked. There are also vending machines. The gas station is easy to access.
No hand sanitizer available.
One of the paper towel holders had towels in it.
