Bring ear plugs.Thai restaurant who wants to be a night club.My local Thai place for $12 is so much better.Huge plates with a little bit of food.I get it.They got some awards..people are flocking...don't let the hype sway you.The service is great but I can pour my own water.Lack luster as my mom would say. They are pushing that food out so fast to turn the tables.Meals are photo ready but not mouth ready.Curry was great. They put it on a plate. Need a spatula to get that sauce.
Great authentic Thai food. The crispy chicken was beyond my expectation; super crispy outside and soft tender inside. All other dishes are fine authentic Thai style. Service was not great, and I believe that is due to that fact that this restaurant is one of the most famous ones in LA (Best rated by Opentable). All servers are super busy, and it would be great to expand the restaurant since it's super hard to make reservation with such popularity. Atmosphere was good with lively (somewhat noisy).Plenty of wine selection is available to pair with variety menu. This is a cozy place, and not a high-end atmosphere restaurant.
Elevated pricing but not particularly elevated or special Thai food.Overall it was decent, not great. The fried chicken, which on the night we went, basically every table in the restaurant ordered, was dry and a tad bland. It came with five large pieces of fried chicken but only a small dollop of sticky rice. The scallops with ginger lemongrass nam jim were pretty refreshing but they were the portion size of amuse bouche. The tom yum with yellowtail collar tasted like most tom yum I've ever had.The crab fried rice was pretty good.It was loaded with crab, almost too much. Also we wanted dessert but the dessert chef wasn't there until the second sitting so no dessert for us.Can't even plate some mangos with sticky rice without the dessert chef's supervision apparently.
