I decided to give this authentic Mexican restaurant a try because I had a craving for tacos, and I can confidently say that it satisfied my craving.The tacos were flavorful and moist, and the portion size was quite generous for a reasonable price.The queso was delicious, and the salsa had a lot of flavor.The music playing in the background was fantastic and made me want to get up and dance.Our server was friendly and ensured that our order was prepared perfectly.
First and definitely last time here. I should start by saying the food is NOT BAD.For a $12.99 buffetâŚitâs not bad.The food was not the issue. It was the service and attitude of the âserviceâ, to use the word lightly. I understand that customers ordering the lunch buffet are not high on the list of priorities in any establishment, Iâm not expecting the staff to become my instant best friends, but some commonplace service industry norms are definitely requiredâŚespecially if one is leaving an (undeserved) tip. I came with my elderly parents for the lunch buffet.They saw âbuffetâ, they saw âsenior discountâ and they were looking forward to it.I already could tell the discount wouldnât be part of the buffet, and thatâs one hundred percent understandable; a place has to make money.Still, it was no deterrent.We made a point of coming here. As stated, I came with my elderly parents.We walked up to the locked door at 11:00 am on the dot.We know how geriatrics can be.Two male staff were still in T-shirts setting up.Itâs fine, it happens. But when one of the employees unlocked the door, there was no greeting.No hello, no can I help you and he literally just unlocked the door and walked away. He TOLD us to sit anywhere.Then he asked us if we were having the buffet.Then he left. A very warm welcome. We sat for about ten minutes.As mentioned above, it was our first time there.Should we just serve ourselves at what appeared to be a buffet area in a corner of the restaurant? Do we need to ask first ? Should we wait? Maybe someone will come to take a drink order? No one was around, I decided to just wash my hands.Where is that bathroom? In the restroom, found the two employees in various forms of dress.The one who opened the door, left half dressed.Another one, was urinating and left without washing his hands.As I left the restroom, he rethought this and came back into the restroom to wash his hands. I exited and we continued to wait as they finished setting up, I presume.The gentleman who at first forgot to wash his hands, was across the room PICKING HIS NOSE.He eventually came over and took a drink order.We were easy: a water, a Diet Coke and an iced tea.He brought THREE iced teas.He also charged us for all three.I wouldâve said something but he never came back until he was ready to give us a check when we had finished eating.None of the wait staff in pink ever came to our table except for the two instances (drinks, check).HONORABLE MENTION: the young lady that the wait staff has cleaning the tables and picking up used items was lovely.Itâs unfortunate that she has to share the top we left with the other three non present servers in pink. Maybe we annoyed them because we were buffet patrons? Maybe itâs annoying to show up right when a place opens? Either way, it was NOT enjoyable âŚborderline depressing.Did I mention it was a belated birthday lunch? Anyway, the point is that it was definitely not worth $51 to feel like youâre putting the staff out of their way on a Wednesday lunch. This place used to be MI GUSTO ESâŚit looks like there is absolutely no more gusto at all. Mejor que uno cocine en casa y ahorre el $$$.Mejor ambiente.
Fantastic place.Solid food, great service.Will be back for sure!
