We had a group of 11 people for Father's Day.We have been there a few times before and everyone says it's the best.Now the cooks were great, food was good, and it helped putting in a little more sauce, but it was when we split the bill. I explained a few times, who I was paying for, since it was Father's Day.My bill was incorrect. I explained it again at the register and he started arguing with me over who I pointed to and who I was paying for.Once we got it straightened out, I paid my portion, thought it seemed high, but didn't realize why until I got home. They had automatically added an 18% gratuity to my bill. Then when I swiped my card, it asked for a Tip, so, of course, I added a tip, as there was nothing showing one already charged, PLUS I tipped the cooks $10.00 in cash already. When we were chatting outside, they told other members of our party that my parents didn't pay their bill. Well, NO, I PAID it, and the guy began to argue with me again. So, we walked away, paying over 30% tip, and being accused of not paying properly. I wasn't happy at all. I paid for 4 people total. 3 large bowls and one medium bowl. 4 sodas, and it was $115 after all was said and done. I consider myself to be a "good tipper" and as long as the service is REALLY good, I will tip more than 18%.But it's a little on the "self-serve" side at this restaurant, so it's hard for me to be OK with over a $30 tip for 4 people, as everyone in the group tipped as well!

Hi Amie, Thank you and your family for dining at our restaurant yesterday, and i am the cowboyhat who served your group of 11, and i am the owner of #1MongoliqlanBBQ.I am very sad to read your comment because you were not happy about the tips.I apologize about that.As the owner of the restaurant, i will take the blame for this unfortunate mistake.But to be clear in this matter so that those who read your comment will have a better understanding of the issue so that there will be no unnecessary misunderstandings in the future.We do business with local customers mainly and of course we build our restaurant value based on transparency, quality, and ethics.And that is why over the years we have always been the best restaurant in idaho.Your case of adding $10 tip after we added 18% service charge to the bill was a misunderstanding. There have been many cases in the past, many customers although we have added 18% service charge to the bill, they still give extra tip to show their gratitude for our service.And your case happened exactly the same, we wrote on the bill that we will add 18% gratuity and you know that.We cannot arbitrarily do anything wrong with your hard-earned money.In this case, we thought you were generous, kind and gave us extra money because of Father's Day.Sorry for this unnecessary misunderstanding that made you unhappy, and I am unhappy too.I will refund you all the tips you gave us and I will have to do it for our integrity.Can you give me your phone number so I can contact you. And the fact that I said there were 2 people who have not paid because of you made me very confused. When I wrote the bill, you said you paid for 5 people, but when I counted the bill, you said you only paid for 3 people.Because it was so chaotic at that time, I thought the other 2 people hadn't paid yet.But after I checked again, they had paid in full and I apologized to your husband for this incident. Once again, I apologize for this misunderstanding.Thank you.
We went in and there was a huge party of like 20 people, everything was pretty well gone, no clean bowls, and the chefs were going like crazy, but, there was a young man waiter that was fantastic, he was working his poor little butt off, running bowls of good items, washing bowls, and another young lady was helping we spoke shortly and she was very sweet.The chefs were quick to take care of everyone, and as usual the food was fantastic.We did get our drink comped, I think because we were waiting for bowls and food, but we had a fantastic time either way.

The chef pointed at me when I arrived and asked if I wanted to eat in or take out, then said sit anywhere. Someone, I think a server asked if I wanted a drink, then dropped off my cup of water at the table. No instructions from there. The seats are so old that I can't find a comfortable place to sit.No labels on any of the sauces made it very difficult to know what I was getting.I picked one small bowl and filled it, but I was charged for a medium? Not sure why. The chef was fine and my food was cooked okay even if it had no flavor. Likely because I had no idea what sauce I put on it. The salt at the table only had a tiny bit left, so that didn't help the taste. For a guy who travels every week l, this is the worst service I have had I quite some time

We apologize for the unpleasant experience.We took you your water after seating you, we arent sure if you are complaining about that or just giving a list of events.We apologize for not giving you instructions, you seemed pretty familiar with the process (to the point you even got a seperate bowl for your sauces, as we recommend ;)) so we didnt see the need to.The booth we sat you in does have some wear on the vinyl/leather and we do apologize for that too, but it was the only place we were able to seat you.However, the booth did have two sides to it, the other side still in excellent condition, why didnt you sit there? Note: Being a Mongolian BBQ service is pretty straightforward, we see nothing wrong with how we served you and upon asking your server you seemed pretty upset from the moment you came in.We ask that you take some time and reflect and give us an honest review without any strong emotions inhibiting you.Once again we apologize and we strive to do better every time! - Noah :)
